Casillas argues Modric in Madrid

MADRID - Real Madrid captain, Iker Casillas believes the midfielder Tottenham Hotspur Luka Modric will be a valuable addition to Jose Mourinho.

Modric has continued to be associated with moving from the north London club in Madrid this summer. Casillas and seems to agree and support the presence of international players in Croatia Santiago Bernabeu.

"I know him (Modric)," Casillas said, as reported by the Guardian on Monday (7/30/2012). "There was a time, it has become a Tottenham player, and he was in the spotlight of the world," said 31-year goalie.

"During the last European Championships, he was there. This is a very good player. I think it's on the level of Real Madrid," said the Spanish international player.

Casillas also commented on how Merengues thrive when Mourinho is able to form a team after the arrival of Modric in Madrid this summer. In addition, he also believes Madrid do not need a player at right-back position.

"The boss can shape this team and if (Modric) players who will strengthen us. We were fascinated by its appearance and to have him in our team, we can continue to grow in the next season," he explained.

"Right of return? Wait a minute. I'm not the one you should ask for his comments about it," he said. "But I think our defense is very good," he concluded.
